Transfer Time to Final Bill - 56 Hours.

I switched gas suppliers at 23.59hrs on the 24th August. I gave my new supplier my meter reading at 08.00hrs the 25th. New supplier confirmed on the meter by 09.00 hrs. Email at 16.00 hrs confirmed that my switch reading had been validated and the new supplier had access to my smart meter readings. My old supplier’s online account showed charges raised against the agreed opening/closing meter reading yesterday morning. This morning a Final statement from my old supplier was received. I am not expecting any credit balance repayment as I still have an open electricity account with my old supplier but my monthly DD is now set a £1 per month.

Sounds like a good result. I had an equally excellent result when I moved my gas from one supplier (octopus) to another (so energy).....i didn't even have to supply a closing reading. Its was taken smartly by both suppliers (same readings, and it was accurate) I received a closing bill the next day from octopus, and my IHD sent me a message on switch day saying so energy was reading my meter.....this is how it should work. No hassle, no "mysterious third party", just competent suppliers using the technology correctly.
