Hi
My daughter is travelling to Spain next week.   She has had covid within last six weeks and NOT vaccinated.
Im confused if the NHS covid App showing the recovery is acceptable for entry to Spain or if a test is required prior to entry.
If a test is required what would it be please.

We have looked on several sights and still find it very confusing as some say accepted and others say not.

Any advice would be appreciated.

  • From UK Gov website :

Certificates of recovery - (a medical document certifying that you have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 6 months prior to travel) - is not currently accepted for arrivals from the UK.

If not vaccinated The Spanish government requires arrivals from UK to present the following:

    • documentation certifying that you have undertaken a COVID-19 nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT - e.g. PCR, TMA, LAMP or NEAR) within 72 hours prior to arrival in Spain and tested negative.

All passengers (including children under 12 years old) travelling by air or sea must complete and sign an online Health Control Form no more than 48 hours prior to travel

The Spanish government publishes and reviews their list ‘risk countries’ every 7 days So keep checking the latest rules here : https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/spain/entry-requirements

    Hi
This is on what i think is the spanish website

Passengers from third countries who meet the requirements to enter Spain (see section "Entry requirements for entry in Spain from third countries"), may travel by presenting any of the following certificates, as long as they meet the same conditions as the EU Digital COVID Certificate:

    • a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19,
    • a negative diagnostic test (NAAT or RAT) performed within 72h (NAAT)/48h (RAT) of arrival,
    • a certificate of recovery from COVID-19

ATTENTION !!!, if you travel to Spain under point k) of the section "Entry requirements for entry in Spain from third countries, you can only do so if you have a certificate of being fully vaccinated with an EMA/OMS authorized vaccine, and the last dose was administered more than 14 days ago.For persons resident in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland coming directly from this country, in addition to the vaccination certificate, diagnostic certificates of NAAT tests (nucleic acid amplification tests, e.g.: RT-PCR, RT-LAMP, TMA, HAD, NEAR, CRISPR, SDA.....) will also be considered valid.

UK website says not but this (which is think is official Spain website ) indicates   yes.

Unless i am interpreting this wrong ?     So confused

So , from Uk you can have vaccination certificate or a  certificate from a test either e.g.: RT-PCR, RT-LAMP, TMA, HAD, NEAR, CRISPR, SDA..

No mention of recovery certificate. The same as the GOV.UK website saying it is not accepted.
