Tax Credits Child Staying In FTE

Hi,
one child is staying on in non advanced FTE and other is leaving. This has shown as updating on Gov UK for weeks. If I look at "Your Next Payments" it only goes up to 27/08/2021, usually this updates weekly to show a rolling 6 weeks. The last award notice I got, months ago, showed payments continuing in September at a lower rate but they had the wrong child showing as remaining in education. I did write to let them know this but have had no reply.
Can I expect to get a payment next week while my claim is being updated or will payments stop until such time as they have completed the changes?
They seem to be taking a long time to do anything at the moment!

For those staying in FTE then payments continue until 31st August. After this they calculate your new award, which is usually done within a couple of weeks. It's perfectly normal for this to happen as it happens every year when continuing in full time education.

Payments are likely to stop until they recalculate the new award. It happened to me for all my children.
  • I'm going through the same at the moment, and had the same last year too. Last year mine looked more like yours on the government gateway and it all sorted itself out in the first week of September.

This time, I just have a one off payment showing, I've contacted them and they have said my payment schedule will be updated in September. They've confirmed they are aware my child is staying in education, but I'm not feeling entirely confident.

But, the system can't do anything until September. My payments did drop in September last year by around 30% so may want to be prepared for a bit of drop

OP states that 1 child is leaving FTE and 1 child staying on. This means that payments are likely to stop for a brief period.

Yes I know there will be a drop and even have a provisional award notice issued in May stating what the payments will be. I did write to them to point out that they had the children the wrong way round. They showed that child one who is now leaving sixth form is staying in FTE and child two who is going into sixth form this September is leaving FTE. I have never had a reply or acknowledgement and now no payments show beyond today!
