Faulty shed

Bought a shed from a on line company.  On trying to assemble said shed it transpires that the wood is poor quality, warped and full of knots, fixings poor quality too and worst of all the sections are not square making it very difficult to erect properly.  The roof panels are warped and there are gaps in the panels.   This shed was not cheap.  On looking on line at reviews for this company it seems a lot of people have had the same problem.   What are my rights on this?  Customer service from this company is not great.  Can I insist on returning this and a refund?  The quality and problems only become apparent when we started to put it together.

Stop construction, take photos to show the problems, package it back as best as you can, then notify the retailer you are rejecting it.

How long has it been in your possession?

You have the right to reject it.  Two lots of rights, actually.  One, because it's faulty.  Two, because it was a distance sale which you may return within 14 days of receipt, providing you haven't excessively handled it.

You're rejecting it because it's faulty.  They're entitled to check that it is, hence the photos.

Did you pay by card, by any chance?  If so, you have other options if they start mucking about.

Yes paid by credit card.  It has been handled as it only became apparent how bad the quality was once we tried to put it up.  On the company website it states they dont except returns once its been put up as its sold as a flat pack.  The main problems are the poor quality and the fact the panels are warped and not square meaning that there are huge gaps between the panels and the roof just does not fit at all.

Reject is as faulty.  If they muck about, speak to your card company.
