Wickes Kitchen Unit seem to have expanded in size.

Back in May this year I had a new Wickes kitchen installed. The design we went for their Intelliga handleless design which has vertical and horizontal aluminium trim around each unit.
It was all fitted by a local kitchen fitter and looked great.
However, three months on, and we have a strange problem where it looks like the units have expanded in height by around 3mm.
This probably wouldn't be noticeable, apart from the Intelliga design has metal vertical trim between each unit, and the metal was cut to the exact height on the unit at installation.
Has anyone seen or experienced this before?

Can it be that the trim slipped or was installed incorrectly?

Could it be that the chipboard used for the units has absorbed some moisture and expanded in the 3 months, where the metal trim hasn't?
