Driving license renewal

I received a form to renew my driving license because I will be 70 in November 2021. I’m going to apply now but not sure if I have to pay the fee because I’m not 70 until November?
Any advice would be appreciated.  😀

No, you don't need to pay if the form is the one for being 70.

If you have a UK passport it is far simpler and quicker to do your renewal online. It should be turned round in a week or so. Paper applications are taking weeks, if not months. Make sure that you go to the proper government website here:

There have been lots of reports on here of people being fooled by sites offering renewal services for a considerable fee. There is no charge for obtaining your new licence at 70.

Make sure you go to the correct gov site.
There is no charge to renew your licence at 70, if the site want's to charge you or wants payment details you are on the wrong site.

Thank you Too Many  Points.I did the online renewal and I have a valid uk passport.Now  received application completion form. I don’t know if this is sent to any one renewing online. They also want either a BR2102, BR5899 form. Haven’t a clue what they are. Can you shed any light on them. Thank you

I have heard a lot of people have had this happen to them and someone paid over £90
