Wayfair Retur Fees

Hi All,
Hoping for some advise on returning an item to Wayfair.
I ordered a rug, but have changed my mind on even having a rug in the room, it’s unopened and in original packaging.
I started a return but return postage charges are coming up, Curbside Hermes Pickup £4-16 or UPS Pickup £8-33
As a long time MSE user I thought I was covered by distance selling regs etc., but after a read of Wayfair returns policy apparently returns are only free if the item is damaged, incorrect, faulty?
After a google I’ve also come across Hermes website which says I can book a free Wayfair return, this would need to be via a drop off point which does label printing which isn’t a problem.
Any info on if I do have to pay for the return, would be cheapest option at £4-16 which is as far as I can tell is deducted from the refund amount, but I cannot print labels or is the Hermes website correct on free returns or is this advertised as free as Wayfair take the cost from the refund and pay Hermes from the deduction?
Thanks for any information

To be fair, Wayfair shouldn't be expected to cover the cost of postage both ways if you change your mind.
The regulations don't automatically allow 'free' returns in that you get return postage paid for - the retailer has to refund the original amount paid (minus any premium delivery option if you selected it) but they're under no obligation to arrange the return free of charge.1 -
The trader is only obligated to cover the return costs where they haven't stated via durable means that the consumer should bear this cost (or the trader has offered to bear it) when cancelling their contract.
You should check the order emails and any paperwork with the goods (as info on a website isn't durable), if it hasn't been stated you are to bear the cost then the trader must do so.
If the item can not be returned via normal post then they should also provide you with the cost of returning (again via durable means), and, again, if they haven't done so must bear the costs.
If you think they haven't complied with the above I can post the legislation so you can ping an email to them.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0
