Energy price cap from OFGEM - what's the tariff

I'm trying to find out what is the energy price cap that OFGEM are levying on suppliers BUT i want to see it in terms of price per KW and daily standing charge (electric and gas) ?
Any one know what it is now or whats its moving to soon please ?
Why ? Because I'm on a EDF variable rate (for ex-GNE customers) and even Uswitch says its the cheapest tariff available right now .
So I want to compare fixed rate offers against what would be worse case rates if i stay on variable, which is the OFGEM cap.
But i can only find OFGEM cap expressed as a nominal annual charge based on some notional "average" national useage .
Thanks for any help

You are correct, the cap is only on a notional averagae usage - the supplier is free to split his standing charge and kwh tariff around to suit provided he doesn't exceed the cap for the so called Standard variable or Evergree tariff. All you can do is use your own tariff (S/c x 365 and kwh x 12,000, for leccy), add them together to see if it is below the cap for your region.
Aternatively put 12,000kwh for leccy and 3100kwh for gas into a comparison site and see how much it costs

Sorry I meant to say use a comparison site using those figures to see if you can better the price cap (I'm sure you can)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0

the cap is based on a "medium user" - values of 12,000kWh/year for gas and 2,900kWh/year for electricity
Many suppliers seem to be going up by ~12% atm so you could try that to your variable rate & see how it compares with urrently available fixes.0 -

So I want to compare fixed rate offers against what would be worse case rates if i stay on variable, which is the OFGEM cap.I'm ex-GNE and with EDF. The variable rate they're offering me is 20.68p/kWh & 24.11p/day electricity and 4.169p/kWh &26.12p/day gas. That's pretty poor (although better than some suppliers).N. Hampshire, he/him. I have looked at the capped unit rates calculated by forum members. The most recent calculator I have found on the forum is very good. BUT I do not have gas to the property If I enter nil or zero or 0 for gas the calculator still shows the standing charge of £90 a year depending on the DNO where the property is located. This is then added to the yearly forecast. As there 0ver 4m properties not on mains gas is there a method of not showing the true situation. I suppose the consumer can deduct the standing charge number.0
