Emigrating

Hello. Your thoughts please. A very good friend of ours is emigrating to Spain. He is running up debt on credit cards before he goes. He thinks his debt will not follow him. We have told him that credit card companies can find him. Is he correct????

    No, he's not.

The debt might follow him, it might not.  It's certainly not correct to say it absolutely will not.

Debts can be chased in any country.  It's a case of whether it's worth the bank's time and money to do so.

That's just theft though. I'd not want to be friends with such a person.

I’d be questioning his ethics and morals.

Better hope they like it in Spain or he is well and truly burning his bridges if they do not like it out there & wants to come back.
