I've asked the credit card company to recover the money but I'm sure that's a long and difficult job.  I'm surprised there was no warning to try to prevent us making a booking that we weren't able to go on. I'd be quite happy accept an admin fee from them.
    If flights were included then they likely were non-refundable.  That would eat up a lot of the cost.

    Sadly I don't think the credit card route will be successful for recovery.

    Unfortunately that appears to be the case here. We all make mistakes and when we do the improtant thing is learning from  them.

    I'd add it would also be a more valuable lesson if you also learnt not to involve third party websites based in foreign countries who have notoriously bad customer service when making future bookings.

    Even ignoring the entry restrictions issues you experienced you would have probably experienced problems if any other issues arose between now and your flights that you needed to contact them about.
