Problem I think with my mouse?

For no apparent reason my mouse is not working correctly, it is difficuly to action a link or any other action you would use the mouse for.
It is a cordless HP mouse.

I assume it is a mouse problem? but after repeated click etc it will work, but takes quite a few attempts to action.

Can any one throw some light on the problem please.

Mice are cheap.  New wireless mouse £9.99 on Amazon:

If new batteries don't fix it and you're blasted it out with a can of air, for the sake of £10 its probably not worth faffing about with.

What tends to screw most mice is a broken piece of plastic under the mouse button, or the part that does the "clicking".  Its the weakest part of the thing since its most commonly used.

got a very old LX8(circa 2008) not so easy to replace extra buttons  and a left hand.

When it gets dodgy its a dismantle clean and rebuild.
as well as dust there are often a stray hair or two causing the problems.

One of the foot pads is almost worn out not researched if they can be replaced yet.
If not it could be new mouse time

I highly recommend the LH contour mouse.  Used one (replaced every few years) for nearly 20 years.

The only issue I have with the current one is when it stops work as being wireless and having no batteries it needs to be plugged in to charge maybe once every other month.  There's no low charge warning light so it suddenly will be slow and not respond well and then stop working completely a minute later.

I've got a Logitech mouse and it plays up when the 4 sensor pads on the underside get a build up of muck on them. Give them a good clean and also check the batteries.

Thanks will have a look at their range, really want quality that will last more than just a few years.

The LX8 is at least 12yo and still fine it replaced the right handed mouse that came with the Easycall desktop
The keyboard(LX710?) that was part of the easycall set is still going.
Needs a dismantle and deep clean but not sure I want to risk it while it still performs as a keyboard just grubby.

I do like to try to repair rather than replace

For mice usually a good clean sort them out.

I had a problem with a wireless mouse that turned out not to be the mouse itself. Might be worth mentioning this just in case. Search for 'cordless mouse and USB 3.0 drive interfere with each other'

Error! - Keyboard not attached. Press any key to continue.

Problem solved, thanks to all who replied.

It was the mouse, replaced with a cord one as per the last one, about £10-00
