Android 11 pictures that move

I seem to have a load of camera pictures that move for 1 second. Like a 1second video. I don't know what this feature is called but I do want to turn this pointless feature off.  Does it have a name?

No, it honestly doesn't sound like either of those things. I dont have an app called daydream.

Photo settings / memories/ advanced and turn off animations should do it.

After days of googling for this, I just stumbled across the answer. They are called active photos. Apparently it the must-have feature that I don't see the point of. There's a video on YouTube that tells me how to disable it.

It's not an android 11 feature it's been around for years. Far from being useless it can come in very handy, especially when taking un-posed pictures. Now you know how to turn in on and off, maybe, you should learn how useful it can be in certain circumstances.
