Equifax Webdetect

Options
Hi
I have just received an email alert to say my email address has been on a fraudulent internet trading website. When I spoke to Equifax they have said to change my password on my email login,  so I have now done that. They say it could be a price comparison site or such like. I think it may be a voucher site I clicked on by mistake when looking for a Jet2 one, silly me!!
Will that be all I need to do, as I am a bit panicky now.
TIA  :)

I wouldn't worry about it. Equifax get very confused about how and where email addresses are used.

Okay, so  it is probably okay then.
  • There are numerous examples of big hacks of sites that end up with your email address on a list passed around the hackers and dark web, often with a password being stolen. There are free sites where you can look it up so don't pay Equifax anything for this "service". If you have shared passwords for multiple logins, change all those.
