Venison for wedding breakfast

We're seriously considering venison for our wedding breakfast. Venison medallions with say mushroom sauce and potato rosti or something similar.
Would you greet this with joy, indifference, or dislike?!
FYI the wedding is in October in a place surrounded by Epping Forest.

I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Our wedding place described it as 'a bit Marmite'. I may be a luddite but my thought is if you like steak, say fillet etc, you'd probably like venison, but I may be over simplifying it!0

Only go with venison if you know that majority of your guests would appreciate it. Some people object to eating Bambi, given lots of people will not eat red meat you are probably best of with chicken0

I'd be fine with it, but it's not most people's first choice and I suspect you'll scraping a lot of it into the bin at the end of the meal.1

We have a family party on Sunday, will garner opinion family wise then to kick things off!
Perhaps a small starter with a little bit!0 -

Would you greet this with joy, indifference, or dislike?!As long as you're offering a veggie/vegan alternative that the 'meat eaters but won't touch venison' would find acceptable, go with what you want.I did a big family event (luckily just pre-Covid) and needed a spreadsheet to deal with dietary requirements - vegan, veggie, gluten-free, etc. Half of them wouldn't have come if there was only meal on offer.

I'd play safe. No one will remember you served them as long as they enjoy it. They'll only remember it if they found it off-putting.0 -
We've recently discovered it and think it tastes really nice basically, and obviously it's quite different to chicken or beef so it's more memorable. But I'm aware not all our guests will have the same view as us. Not especially relevant for a wedding, it for every day it's actually pretty decent on health creds vs beef too which is good go know.
They also offer a rib eye, which will be a far safer bet.
We've got a party of sbout 50, we have vegetarian, Gluten free, soya and egg on intolerance. Could be worse, no vegan or nut allergies to add to the list I suppose!

Veering more towards rib eye now - I asked my bro who goes to all sorts of 'posh' dinners and stuff, he said its probably a bit too risky unless you're dead set yourself or know the crowd will like it.0

I agree it sounds delicious .....but
Some meats e.g. venison, duck, lamb cutlets etc. need to be served a little pink - and some guests just won't like that . It is also really difficult to do for an event when you have to have lots ready to serve all at once - some will always end up sitting around for a while and become overcooked/tough. Even worse if you don't run the reception exactly to time.
For the same reason most caterers will steer you away from serving steaks .....because everyone likes them cooked differently, which is impossible to do for large receptions.
Stick to something everyone will like, and which can be "held" easily until ready to serve ......there is a very good reason why so many events serve chicken !0
