Finding Old Shares - Friends Provident 2007

Options
Hi,

We have recently retired and we're going through our paperwork and come up with a share account annual statement from 2007 for Friends Provident plc, stating xxx shares. Now we know they have been taken over at least once, but can't find any further transactions or details since then or payments from anyone we'd recognise in the intervening period. How do I track this down. Thx

From a quick look, Friends Provident was bought by Resolution in late 2009 in an all share deal - 0.9 Resolution shares per or a cash alternative for retail investors up to 2,500,shares - which, after merging with it, subsequently changed its name to Friends Life. In turn, Friends Life was bought by Aviva in an all share deal - 0.74 Aviva per - in 2015.

If you didn't take the cash or sell them at some point then they'd have ended up as some quantity of Aviva shares.

What's a, "share account"? Perhaps ask this provider.
