Supermarket charity schemes - which is best?
Has anyone applied for their charity to get money from one of the supermarkets? You know the things - you buy stuff in the store and when you pay you're given a plastic token which you use to vote for 1 of 3 local charities. Tesco and Waitrose have these and possibly some of the other big players.
How easy is it to apply? And collect the £££? How long does it take????
I'm working with 2 different groups both of whom need specific but (for them) expensive equipment and wondered how good these schemes are. Obviously any free money is great and I'll try to make it work but specific experiences would be helpful just for guidance.

Tesco
The scheme is open to all registered charities and not-for-profit organisations, with priority given to projects that provide food and support to young people.

I have known various local charities get payouts from both Waitrose and the Coop, I don't know how difficult the application process was but I don't think it can be too arduous given the kind of charities I see featured.Signature removed for peace of mind1
