17 year olds denied best interest rates on regular savings accounts?

I am helping my son to save about £100 per month
He wants to put £1200 per year plus any interests into a JISA
All was well until he turned 17 becuase he is too old to be a child saver, and too young to be an adult saver.
There are options but they seem so limited i.e. Nat west £50 max per month with 0.25% for 12 months, versus Saffron Small Save £50 max per month @ 1.75%.
As a child you can have a far greater interest rate...but can't earn your own money to put in it. Then you turn 17 years of age...become a student and can work to save money while living at home (he gives me a little peppercorn rent each week too).
This appears a little unjust.
Does anyone know of a cracking 1 year fixed rate savings account where we can save say £100 pcm and be a 17 year old.
Thank you

Why doesn’t he put it straight into his JISA?1

Does he have a Junior Cash ISA ? With the top JISAs now paying around the same rate of interest as the best Easy Access accounts (which look to be the next-best option now he's too old for a Children's Regular Saver), the most convenient option might be for him to set up a monthly standing order to pay directly into his Junior ISA, as suggested above.

Does he have a CTF? Or it was transferred to JISA?0

OP was seeking a fixed rate savings account, however, I agree with you, this one seems a good option until such an account appears on the market.annabanana82 said:TSB do an under 19 account paying 2.5% up to £25000 -
