Do you tip hairdressers? Uber drivers? Bar staff?

Do you choose to tip when you've received any kind of service?
How much?
Does it depend on the type of service? And on the quality of that service?

No
Don't use them
Very rarely - only when they have been unusually helpful i.e. in recommending drinks.
This doesn't seem to affect my marriage, relationship or family though...I need to think of something new here...0 -
I tip my hairdresser, but she has been doing my hair for at least 30 years.
Don't use Uber. Would tip taxi drivers unless they are very late turning up, car is dirty etc.
Wouldn't tip bar staff.
Do tip in restaurants but prefer to leave cash rather than add it to the bill as that at least gives the servers/chef the chance to benefit rather than the owners.
Of course it depend on the quality of the service you receive - or at least it should. Why would anyone give a tip for poor service?0 -

Not any kind, no - otherwise if it was any kind it would be very expensive.
How much?
It would depend what it was

I only tip the postman at Christmas. He gets £20. I would never tip hairdressers, bar/restaurant staff or taxi drivers (unless I’m in the USA).0

We don't tip anyone for doing their job. The advent of contact less payment to my hairdresser has removed that issue. I think £72 per hour is fair wage...even if you're paying for your chair..#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3662

I will start tipping other trades when I get a tip for just doing the job that I am paid for.
The chances of that happening are nil.2 -
No, I'm on a low income (approx 6k a year) so can't afford to tip people who have a bigger income than me.0
