    I see. I took Farfetch's 'particularly if unauthorised' to mean that an authorised overdraft would have less of an impact. My mistake.

    That said, it is a joint account, and my wife had no problem recently getting a new phone contract, so why it would affect me and not her is beyond me. But clearly there's more magic than science involved in all this.

    Joint account doesn't make any difference, just means your finances are linked and they don't like something on your record.
