Accident Questions
Options
My partner had an accident last week hitting a stationary vehicle. We checked askmid but the third party vehicle is showing as uninsured. Is this site 100% correct or could they have insurance. Reason I ask as they were adamant they didnt want the insurance involved (so this could be why) but we had already contacted ours.
Also, we have made a claim through Audi Ensurance - has anyone had any experience of using them? We are waiting for a call back from them - likely Monday. Our insurer is Admiral.
Thanks in advance
EDIT - I don't have an issue with them claiming more just wondered if ask MID was 100% accurate and experiences of Audi Ensurance

How much damage was done ?
My mum had a prang a few months ago and the lad who hit her paid for her work to be done upfront instead of going through the insurance.0 -
To be honest we couldn't see any damage to their vehicle but they say there is - I wont argue that as we have already decided on the insurance route.
Ours is probably £2k worth of damage, maybe more. This is why we have chosen the insurance route.

Doesn’t matter if they’re insured or not. If there is damage to their vehicle, they can present a valid claim.0

It wont be 100% accurate. I could cancel my insurance now and ASKMid would still show it insured for a while, not sure how long though1

Perhaps their policy is new, or has just been changed to a different registration. and the insurer is just a bit tardy in updating the database.
Perhaps the driver was covered on a different policy - perhaps a trade policy or driving-other-cars cover.
But, yes, it is entirely feasible they were uninsured.
However, since that vehicle was stationary, it's simply not your problem. It's an at-fault claim from your policy...2
