I have a Windows10 Asus laptop. ( perhaps 4 years old ). In the past I have been able to print successfully from it . The printer is an old Epson SX525WD. Both connected to a Sky router wirelessly. For several months now I have been unable to print anything. The laptop recognises the printer which has the most up to date drivers installed but will not print , not even the test page from the Epson setup page. I can print from my Samsung phone and my OH can print from his Macbook ( which curiously has only recently been achieved. When I Could print it seemed that he could not . Is this a red herring or significant ?) So I assume that the problem lies with my laptop. I'm afraid that in trying to get it working that I have "adjusted" so many settings that I need an idiots guide as to how to get things working again. I have deleted and re-installed the printer , updated drivers and rebooted the printer and router but reached a dead end. Can anyone give me an idiots guide to printing to get things working again, I'm tearing my hair out here.

This usually means the printer is trying to print via USB rather than Wifi. You should be able to add it manually specifying the IP address (if you don't know it it will probably be on your phone or the settings of the printer or you can print a configuration sheet from the printer) to find out what address you need.

Thanks for your reply. Now I'm going to demonstrate what I meant by an idiots guide....where exactly do I add the IP address, please? I'm assuming a menu somewhere on the laptop ?0

Thank you , I now have it working. I'm not exactly sure how, as I've only carried out the same steps that I've carried out multiple times before, but for now at least , it works.0
