I bought a Bissell in march which leaked, it was sent back 3 times and they failed to fix it (I suspect they didn't even try), I'm now getting my money back but still need a carpet cleaner, I have pets so I would need a upright that also has a hose attachment.

Any suggestions that aren't made my Bissell?

Vax are their big competitor. Argos have lots of different models and reviews are available to help you pick the best or most suitable for you.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Just buy a rug doctor. You know it will work.

I do not see how having pets nesecatates a dcarpet cleaner ratyher than the occasional rental though, but if it should thats the way to go.

You it is not cheap. The vax and bissel's at the same price probably work also (unlike the cheap ones).

  • I think the oscillating brushes on a Rug Doctor which agitate the carpet fibres are massively important to their effectiveness. Certainly the handheld nozzles on the hired RD machines are nothing like as effective as the main unit. Are there any Vax or Bissell machines that work in the same way?

Carrot, I have 3 pets and I can honestly say a carpet cleaner is definitely needed. When they’ve been sick, being able  to get a carpet cleaner out straight away means I’ve got a much better chance of it not staining.

I've had a Vax for years and it's good. The new ones look better.
I used to have a steam cleaner before they became 'a thing' with a cloth that fitted on the end. It was great at bringing all the hair out of carpets in rollags which you then hovered up. Great for that which makes a huge difference but I'd use a cleaner too to get the sand and dust out.
    Both easy to store.

  • I have the older version of this https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8151298?clickPR=plp:3:11 and have to say for the £100 we paid for it a couple of years ago it does a great job. Used it today on the living room carpet and they have come up great. The rotating brush really makes a difference to the carpet pile.
