Did I drive in a bus lane?
The A41 towards Swiss Cottage is a three-lane carriageway.  Lane 1 is a bus lane at all times, lanes 2 and 3 are for traffic.
At the moment, there's some roadworks in lane three, so there's a sign that shows an arrow for lanes 1 and 2 and a closure for lane three. I read this to mean that traffic could use lane 1 (the bus lane) in addition to lane two to compensate for lane three being closed.
However, I'm now questioning this as there isn't a sign that specifically says "use bus lane". I've used lane 1 every day this week except today and I noticed this morning that there's a camera. Am I about to get 4 fines?

If you mean the sign in the photo, I don't think you can interpret that as overriding the bus lane restrictions, it just means lane 3 is shut. I'd expect a specific sign saying the bus lane is suspended if that was their intention. Whether in practice they're enforcing it though, I don't know.0

It just means out of the three lanes one is closed, the other two lanes would still have their usual restrictions.0

I had similar where i live a few weeks ago, the only difference was there was also a sign saying "bus lane suspended." Looks like you'll be getting some fines in the post very soon.

I think so too. I might fight them though as I think that signage was a little confusing.poppy12345 said:I had similar where i live a few weeks ago, the only difference was there was also a sign saying "bus lane suspended." Looks like you'll be getting some fines in the post very soon.0 -
Surely an email to the local authority is better than just wondering and waiting.1
