I've got time off until the 20th and I want to get away somewhere for three or four days.
The only criterea is
1/ Somewhere hot
2/ Somewhere cheap!

Prefer to fly from somewhere near(ish) to Lincoln

Any recomendations for a single traveller?

mmm, ive been looking at some deals lately and there seems to be some great deals to sharm el sheikh in egypt flying from various airports, however, best to check the foreign office advice before travelling as Egypt could be a hot spot for terrorism. Tunisia also has some good deals but again im not too sure about the safety aspect, maybe someone else can advise

failing that, ive just booked a week in larnaca cyprus for a relaxing holiday, depends on what you want though mate

I have just returned (last week) from a 4 night break at the Thalassa Hotel, near Monastir in Tunisia. It was perfect for a short break for the following reasons:

The weather is fantastic there at the moment - hot, but not too hot
The flight time is only 2.5 hours (from Gatwick)
There is only a 1 hour time difference - so no jet lag
The hotel is only 10 minutes from the airport - but had surprisingly little aircraft noise.
The Thalassa is a 4 star hotel and is exceptionally clean with very good quality food.
The whole thing cost a total of £422 for 2 people - including upgrading to full board, luxury room with sea view, pre-booked seats on the flight and in-flight meals.

Regarding the question of security - threat of terrorism etc. It is not considered by the local people or holiday reps in the area to be a particular problem. As it happens, we enjoyed relaxing at the hotel so much that we only ventured out once for a bit of shopping. We have 3 small children and this was our first ever break without them so we just luxuriated in the pure relaxation. - AAHH BLISS!!

Forgot to say - we booked it online with Thomson from their Platinum brochure -although I did call them first to negotiate some extra discount, but the on-line booking discount was still higher
