Also the perceived noise will be different with different cars.0

Tyre noise is something that's being looked into big time right now, especially with the rise of EVs.0

Well I have taken the plunge and put some non run flats on the car.
Is it quieter - erm - a think so.
Is it smoother - erm - very much.
Is it handling better - erm - no, it's like a sponge now.
Are there issues?
YEP.
I now have vibration from the rears at 70mph. Tyre shop says that this is due to all four wheels having buckles on the insides.
I did not notice that before! So now I have to chase around the problem that I didn't have before. !!!!0 -

You could pump your tyres up to 60psi to replicate the feel if you want (joking).
With regard to the wheel balance, I've had plenty of occasions where the placing of the weights has made all the difference and even extra weights added to the inside edge of the rim as well as the outside.
You'll just have to keep going back until it's right.0 -
Thank you sir. I will take it back in somewhere else tomorrow - I am sure it will be that which will fix it.0

Yeh they are really good.
Dunlops Sportmaxx 245/40/20
the db is 71 but to the bad balancing company’s credit they did advise me that db ratings are useless in relation to run or non run flats
Also thanks to Bowfer the wheels are buckled yes but they were also NOT balanced properly, so I got a refund, new balancing is better, and a reshape and rebalance is on £36 per wheel.Makes u not trust anything anyone says! Always watch them balance and spin the wheel twice!0 -
I can live with the wallow because as the days pass I am noticing more and more how much more expensive and nice my car is riding. Noise is defo down. Pretty chuffed so far. Any BMW on non runflats wow Id like to try 440i 550i or x5 on normal tyres - be like the old days maybe!0
