Mini TLC Package

I purchased a mini on a personal lease agreement and as part of it bought the TLC package to cover the costs of servicing which was £299. My cars service lights came on so I rang the dealership and was told because my car was 11 miles over the 38000 miles I would have to pay for the service myself. The service was in total £542. I wasn’t provided with any detail on the TLC pack so assumed I booked in when the car notified me of servicing. Has anyone else experienced this / have any suggestions on how I can move this matter forwards as bmw customer services aren’t moving on their position.

You don't need a service light to tell you when your car needs servicing, it has a mileometer.
Why would you pay £299 without understanding what it entitled you to?
Sometimes you have to suck it up and think personal responsibility.0 -
If it's covered in the Ts & Cs that you signed, unfortunately it's one of those things. I would imagine it is covered in the pack, you just missed it. 38,000 is an odd number though, 32,000, 36,000 or 40,000 would make sense, 38,000 is 9500 a year. Are you sure it was just 11 miles?
When you get a car, particularly a new one, take note of the service intervals e.g. mine is annual or 12,000 miles I think with a 6 month recommendation for tyre rotation and oil change - makes it easy for me as my mileage is less than 12,000 a year so it just goes in annually (it also counts down the mileage and puts an alert on depending on what the service interval is set as).0 -

Is the car servicing the flexible system that BMW have where the car is monitored and advises that the service is required? (I think it is called Condition Based Servicing or something similar)?
Is the 38k miles a service interval, or the mileage limit of the lease (or PCP) deal? Or a limit on the mileage covered by the TLC Plan?
I would expect that you have actually purchased two separate (but interrelated) products:
- the car (lease or PCP)
- the service plan
What are the terms of the service plan?
What are the terms of the lease (or PCP)?
Missing a service by only 11 miles does not seem to be the only reason the fee would not be covered.0
