MOTABILITY scheme question

Options
Hi all,
I am in the process of leasing a Mobility Scooter  for the first time via the motability scheme. I have the enhanced mobility PIp.
The dealer I have contacted to lease the scooter from is asking me for some documents I don't have. I have emailed him the DWP letter with the end date of my award etc and now he is asking for me to send my DWP letters concerning how many points I have and start dates for my mobility award.
Is this usual? I find that a bit strange. Why does he need that?
Would love some help  :)
Thanks all.

Sounds perfectly normal that they would ask you to send them your whole PIP award letter, which would include the points scored and your start and end date of your award. This is otherwise known as your certificate of entitlement. Details here.

    What you will need

    • Certificate of entitlement for your award from either the DWP or Veterans UK (the award letter stating which allowance you have been awarded and the duration)
    • Proof of address (e.g. recent utility bill or bank statement)
Before doing this though, have you had a look at other options for a mobility scooter? Leasing one with motability is rather expensive and you'll probably get a better deal elsewhere.
