Although i'm not a fan of autoswitchers like LAMB.....the email trail you copied and pasted doesn't make a huge amount of sense.

So were you already with green and LAMB just moved you to a different green tariff? If thats the case then surely the 14 day cool off period doesn't apply, as you are just changing tariffs with the same supplier?

They've told you in all those emails that they are an autoswitcher and they look for a "fair deal" that saves you money, not the best deal. (when they say "fair" what they mean is a company that will give them good commission) So you cant expect them to move you to a tariff that you've found yourself which is cheaper, as thats not in their interests and thats not what they do.

Its for all those reasons why I don't like companies like LAMB. Its a simple process to switch, everyone should be encouraged to learn how to do it using comparison sites. Sure LAMB can be useful for those stuck on standard tariffs for years, and will save them money. For everyone else, its not better than looking yourself.

They quote a figure they can "save" you but that's based on what you would pay if you didn't switch.......so your current tarrif would rollover to the "standard" tarriff - which is pretty much useless.

So you were fully aware of what you were letting youself into.

If you were switched despite telling the supplier you did not wish to switch within the cooling off period, you should make a formal complaint to the supplier.
They will be obliged (if evidence exists to support your complaint) to put switch you back under the erroneoeous transfer customer charter. Your old supplier will treat you as though you had never left them (so keep you on the same tariff, not charge exit fees, etc), and you will not be expected top pay the new supplier anything.

If you have paid the new supplier anything, they should refund you in full.
There may be a delay to monthly DD collections by the old supplier whilst your complaint is dealt with, so ensure you hold onto any money not collected so you can pay the old supplier later once it is all sorted out.

Let us know how you get on. :)

Where exactly do LAMB promise to "get "the BEST" and "most competitive" energy deal possible" ???
According to their home page they state very clearly:
"Our aim is to keep you on a fair deal forever. That may not mean the very cheapest, ...
When your first deal comes to an end we keep checking the market. If we can save you £50 or more or £15 if you have a prepayment meter then we’ll switch you again. ...
    We aren’t a comparison site – we do auto-switching! ...
If you don’t like the supplier we switch you to then you will have a 14 day cooling off period with them to cancel the switch...."

    21st July - Email from LAMB - "
We've found you another great new deal with our trusted supplier, Green.

We know switching suppliers can sometimes be a pain so we've secured you another brilliant deal with the same supplier - it's completely hassle-free!

The deal we’re switching you to will lock in some fantastically cheap rates for the next 12 months.

This means you'll be protected from any potential prices rises until we switch you again next year.
Green are a new and innovative supplier taking the industry by storm.

With great deals and excellent customer service."

    1st July - Email from LAMB  - "
Once your deal ends you'll be rolled on to your current supplier's default tariff - which is often the most expensive tariff.
But not to worry - on 21/07/2021 we'll scan the energy market to find you a new deal worth switching you to.

The best bit is that you don't even have to lift a finger!"

    1st July - Email from LAMB - "
Please note that we aren’t a comparison site and we offer something fresher that can guarantee to keep you on a fair deal FOREVER!

We do auto-switching! This means we don’t give you a choice of deals, we simply give you the best deal we can find and switch you to them! With a comparison site, you have to keep track of when your deal ends and remember to switch again when it does otherwise you get rolled on to a terribly expensive deal.

With Look After My Bills we do it automatically for you so you’re always saving and never worrying. Even better, we select the best deal amongst our panel of suppliers who we vet; and ensure they will be able to provide the service we promise to our customers."

    12th July - Email from LAMB "
We are an automatic switching service and so once we find you a deal, we do begin switching you. However, we do immediately notify you of the full details of your new deal and provide you with a 14-day cooling-off period for you to cancel any switch we have found for you without your current supply being affected.

The information pertinent to the tariff and supplier we have sourced for you will be made available to you as soon as we have run a comparison for you soon.

When we run a comparison plus switch, we look for a competitive tariff with a reputable supplier to ensure you do not overpay for your energy. We currently average saving of £259 for our customers and we only work with suppliers that we have personally checked to ensure that not only do they provide competitive rates, but also quality customer service.

So we are confident that we can find you a deal you'll be happy with. Not only that, but we'll also be searching for the best deals for you year on year so that you do not overpay for your energy."
    ........................................................................................................................

I have sent an email to Green this morning : I've taken a closer look at this and you will see that I emailed Green on 26th July at 8.26 am -which is 13 minutes after receipt of your email informing me of my new tarrff. I believe this is within the 14 day cooling off period.
Please confirm that your exit fees will be withdrawn asap."

TL:DR, but you don't appear to have answered my question.

    - in fact the answer you have posted at length appears to prove they don't make such claims  you earlier suggested.

How can you be fully aware of how much you'll "save" is the saving isn't based on what you've been paying? What you'll save is the difference between what you have paid in the past and the amount you'll pay in the future. Anything else is isn't relevant!

The saving is based on the unit rate and standing charge of the tariff and the estimated annual consumption you would have provided when you joined. Whether thats accurate or not is another thing.

They do comparisons against the standard tariff as when your "fix" ends you tend to get put on that tariff, and given you are "autoswitching" the comparison is based on you as the customer doing nothing. They then transfer you to someone who will continue to give them a commission.

I posted those as quotes because they are quotes! I don't fabricate and I don't like to be accused of doing so but I have a huge number of emails from them...................as, when and if I find that quote, I'll post it again with source but I don't want to spend my time justifying myself to some stranger on a forum from which I seek advice, not condemnation!.........................................................
Why have posts here got to be a specific length? It takes too much time to satisfy the message "Body is 9 characters too short"
