Credit Card Payment Plans/ Settlement

I wonder if someone could please advise.
We have numerous credit card payment plans in place for some time and we have always intended to pay our debts.  We have an interest only mortgage on our home which has come to an end and we are selling to pay this off.  We have accepted a solid verbal offer, albeit much less than we would have liked.  We will rent for a few years and hopefully later purchase a property further north for our retirement.
My question is, once we receive the formal offer on our property what should we do then with regard to the debt collectors?  When would be the best/correct time to contact them?  Do we tell the debt collectors that we are about to sell, and that we will be able to pay in full on completion? Might they accept an offer of part payment in settlement?

Thank you very much for your attention.
