Morning all,
I currently have Virgin media 350, Sky have recently upgraded the local connections and I can get 500 for 15 less than I am paying with virgin.
The household is very data hungry so could do with the extra speeds.
My quesion is does anyone have any experience with the two in terms of connectivity and stabilty?
I don't want to move to sky and find the signal drops in and out?

That would be a BT Openreach upgrade to FTTP .Signal to router on FTTP should not drop out .If Sky offer 500 then BT will as well and maybe a few others .1

Thanks for the prompt response, so would you sat that it should be as stable as the Virgin package I have?

FTTP should be more stable than older VM cabling .Wifi will as always depend upon many non ISP factors .1

The Sky FTTP service should be fine, although be aware that it can be difficult to use your own router on Sky FTTP (it will require DHCP Option 60/61) and Sky's router isn't the best for wifi. Have you considered the same FTTP service from other providers such as BT and TalkTalk? BT offer the 500 Mbps for £45.99/m whilst TalkTalk offer it for £40/m, although TalkTalk's service is data only (ie no phone service supplied).1

Many thanks for the input.
If you were to select one, what would be your preference?
BT looks pretty solid?0 -
