Santander only took minimum payment last month?

Hi,

Apologies if this sounds like a stupid question, but I have a credit card with Santander, I owe about £1100 on it (new house spending),

Until a few months ago I was paying the balance off in full every month, but some unexpected house improvement needed doing so decided to save for a new boiler.  In turn, I changed the monthly payment to £100 per month.

Julys bill went through fine and £100 was debited.  However Augusta payment is only £7.50 which I don’t understand.    The statement for August reads £100 to be debited on August 11th.

Can anyone advise?  Once I’m in a Bette reposition I play to pay the credit off weekly.

What does it show in your on line account for DD amount ?  As the refund does not account for the difference I suspect the DD has somehow managed to be changed.

    Santander might know.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.

Some days ago I opened a Santander Everyday CC.  I set up a standing order during that process but this has not been updated on their website, so I called this morning and was advised there is an IT issue but was assured the standing order was set from my current account for the amount I requested.

Perhaps your issue is also IT related?  You may wish to call to see what's going on.  You are covered by the DD guarantee so if another party has messed up it is up to them to sort out and not at your expense.

Standing order is a push from you to them, it's on the account holder to ensure it's paid. It's not really a great idea with credit cards. Direct debit is a pull by them from you and is covered by the guarantee so is a lot safer

Thanks for correcting me, I meant direct debit in the first paragraph and not standing order.
