Hi all as the title suggests I've received a money claim sent to the driver personally.

I've sent it to the insurance company who are trying to deal with it, but I want to make sure it's dealt with properly, so coming here for some advice, the bit that I'm not happy about is that it says you have not replied to the claim form I'm 100% sure that no claim form was received, we haven't changed moved, is there anyway I can ask the court to provide proof that the claim form was received? Because we certainly didn't get it.

Does it actually tell you which court issued the claim/judgement?   The first point under "Notes for the Defendant" would seem to apply if no claim form was ever served.
I need to think of something new here...

    It's CCMCC - that's Salford I think

Worth asking for the particulars of claim - you can do this by email.

I think it's a centralised point for all county courts in England(?)

  • That’ll be a Money Online claim. Looks like it’s for a fixed sum too.

Make sure you inform your insurers immediately for them to deal with it. They’ll wither to set it aside or just pay it.

Something needs to be done quickly. If that stays as it is for 30 days or longer it’ll affect your credit rating. Even if they settle it after the 30 day period, it’ll still show as a settled claim.

If it gets paid within 30 days it does not appear on your credit file.

The more important issue is that this is a defaulted judgement, not a claim, and so can be enforced by bailiffs now. So you need to know that your insurers do not have it at the bottom of a big pile.

There are two bulk claims centres - CCBCC in Nottingham, CCMCC in Salford. You can google their contact details
