Incorrect Car insurance info on CUE database

I contacted my insurance company last year to make an enquiry about an incident where I reversed into a bollard. I didn't go ahead with the claim but now new insurance companies are telling me I have a 'fault claim' against me. I have tried asking the underwriter to remove this from the database but I'm getting nowhere. Has anyone had any luck getting information that wasn't an actual claim removed from the CUE database? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

From the MIB website:-
'CUE is a central database of motor, home and personal injury/industrial illness incidents reported to insurance companies which may or may not have given rise to a claim. Information held on CUE is a powerful weapon in the fight against fraud.'
Since you can't 'undo' the incident, the information can't be removed from CUE. It's classed as a fault incident as there's no third party to potentially claim from.0 -
It should be recorded as incident but probably as not at fault because you didn't proceed with the claim. It may have cost them a small amount which is why its marked as fault.
Speak with insurer ask them how much it cost them, pay it back to them and it'll be changed to not at fault as insurer didn't have to pay anything out.0 -

I had a 'fault' claim against me for £143 - the cost of a 'do one' letter to a 3rd party who claimed I'd hit them.
I should have fought back harder as the incident never happened (but it was close!) but in the end I just settled the amount and it was removed.0
