Roof repair quote

I've been quoted £1200 for some repairs to be done on a pitched roof and would welcome any opinions on the price.  It is to replace three ridge tiles which will need to be mitred to a peak.  To replace four tiles around the chimney and replace the flashing.  Also to strip old and replace flashing around the other chimney which is shared with next door.  Also to put new lead in valley.  It is a bungalow and they won't be using scaffolding.  Thanks.

If they are replacing all the lead around two chimneys, I would say that was a fair quote. If they are just doing the  soakers on the chimneys it seems a bit high.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

Thanks.  They are replacing all the lead.

£1200 seems far too cheap to me to fully replace leadwork on 2 chimneys and replace a lead valley even if the valley is only small.

Ya seems a little cheap as it takes time to make new chimney backs and fronts, although quicker if they are lead burning them. And 90% of roofers wouldn’t know how to make them.
I would suspect they are just doing the soakers and flashings.and wouldn’t oil them.

    Wow a proper lead worker!
Maybe, just once, someone will call me 'Sir' without adding, 'You're making a scene.'
