Universal Credit and landlord

Will universal credit notify my landlord I am claiming universal credit ? I live with the landlord, so I am a lodger.

    No, they don't usually contact them. As a lodger, to claim for help with the rent you will need a lodgers agreement and your landlord must not be a close relative for example...
    • parents - including step parents

    • children - including stepchildren

    • brothers and sisters - including half siblings but not step siblings

    • partners of any of these close relatives
