In Nov 2019 we booked a hotel & flight when covered by Holiday Risk.  When the pandemic struck Easy Jet and the hotel moved our hol to Sept 2021. Also Holiday Risk stopped selling insurance.  So last summer we went with Staysure.  Now it looks like my health means we can't take the holiday.  Do I have any chance of claiming with either of these insurers?

It should be stated in the T&Cs of the insurance.  I would try the current insurer first as I don't think that the previous one is relevant at this point.  The crucial bit will be what has happened with your health and when.  If it was an undeclared condition to Staysure I think you will be out of luck.  If however it is something sudden and new then that's what insurance normally will cover.

(full sympathy if that's the case - I know what it's like!)

No my health thing is recent & not terrible (I hope).  I had thought that because the booking precedes the insurance they might not play ball.

Booking proceeding insurance isnt an issue at all... insurance tends to be the same price if you buy it at the same time as the trip or a few months later so you are just getting less for the same money. The issue only arises if the medical condition existed prior to the booking or insurance.

As the condition has arisen since purchase of the second policy the claim should be made against that policy. Presumably your doctor has given you a letter advising you aren't fit to fly?
