Smart Meter IHD Question

How is that done please, do i need to ask Symbio to set this up ( probably more chance of me winning Euromillions lottery on Friday)? No gas E7 only and my Smets2 with Symbio is now dumb, Bright app states tariff not found.Dolor said:Your meter needs to be set up for 30 minute usage data. You should then see graphs like this. I trust these graphs over what I am seeing in my IHD. Bear in mind, that if you are monitoring gas then both the IHD and Bright will show incorrect costs as they use a fixed proxy CV when your actual supply CV is variable.

Consumers have the right to ask for their meters to be set up for readings every 30 minutes; once per day or once a month. The default position is once per month; however, Ofgem is consulting currently on making 30 minutes the default for all smart meters. Octopus, for example, raises charges on this data and no long uses meter readings for all its time-of-use tariffs.WBCPB said:How is that done please, do i need to ask Symbio to set this up ( probably more chance of me winning Euromillions lottery on Friday)? Sorry, but you will need to ask your supplier to apply the change to your meter.0 -
You indeed have a higher chance of winning euromillions than symbio setting 30min readings on your smart meter. You are saying its dumb now? smets2 meters shouldn't go dumb if staying with the same provider who fitted it (unless with avro who just fit them but dont bother reading them). Either its not been commissioned correctly (so not worked from the start) or symbio are not bothering to take readings from it. (are you sure they're not actually taking smart readings but still overestimating for the next months usage?)WBCPB said:

You are correct, smets2 fitted by E-on and recently switched to Symbio, they have taken one smart reading but also overestimating, is the 30 minute readings option enforceable do you know?niktheguru said:

I don't know to be honest. I very much doubt you'll have much joy with it . The fact that they are taking readings is an achievement in itself. You could try asking, but wouldn't put too many hopes on it.WBCPB said:You are correct, smets2 fitted by E-on and recently switched to Symbio, they have taken one smart reading but also overestimating, is the 30 minute readings option enforceable do you know?

The Supply Licence is very vague on the subject. It suggests that the supplier can opt for 30 minute usage data and the consumer can object, or the consumer can give permission. Most suppliers opt for the latter. There is nothing that I can see in the Regulations that requires a supplier to agree a consumer request, although most will do so.

I thought I would give it a try because my IHD ceased to work when I switched to green energy
I cannot download it, it says it is available for some of my devices and then won't download.

I got it to download to my tablet, I was trying to download it from my computer, which usually works, and discovered that my smart meter is not compatible.0
