RM Tracking

I am having problems with Royal Mail tracking for 2nd class small parcels.

Third parcel posted over 5 week period has not been delivered according to RM tracking.

When I look at tracking on ebay they are not even showing as "in transit" so if buyer decided to take advantage of that (even if they have received  package) then I wouldn't  have a leg to stand on with ebay.

Is anyone else having problems with this and is there anything I can do about it?

I find this too so I send signed for all the time .
If they claimed not received and you had the receipt you could claim from Royal Mail for item.

I’m also confused as to why returns are tracked but sales with their labels never seem to show delivered .
Although saying that when they deliver your items using those labels the postman beeps it and it shows the postcode it was delivered if you rung them .
If you don’t like a thread or post just move on by.

Also been having same issue past few weeks on about a dozen small parcels via both 1st and 2nd class. I know some were delivered as received fb but it's somewhat annoying.

I also sent something 1st class recorded early August and still showing 'in transit'. Haven't received fb but I'd like to think it has been delivered, just not scanned.

On top of that, I often receive items via RM when it's recorded yet not scanned, just handed to me so when checking the tracking it shows 'in transit' still and not delivered.

As for op, as long as you have the PO receipt, you can claim if buyer says they never received it. Bit of a pain as takes a good few mins to do but that's your backup.

Because returns are 'Tracked' and as such a high profile highly measured product.

I thought nobody was signing anymore because of Covid!

They aren’t, and my signed for also occasionally show as undelivered as well.

I started an odd thread here last week, I’ve stuff taking ages, nothing showing as delivered and it is driving me crazy https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6288312/strange-delivery-numbers-custardy#latest

RM are telling me my delivery confirmation numbers are wrong, (generated by RM usually) and no idea why stuff has just stopped showing as delivered. I assumed from lack of response to that thread that it was just me.

I’ve switched as much as I can to couriers now and it definitely looks like there is an issue, locally at least, as I was in a queue of 3 ebay sellers today all trying to drop stuff off at Myhermes as RM are causing issues with INR claims and they won’t risk using RM at the moment. The local MyHermes place is just a local convenience shop and they are now saying that anyone with 5 or more parcels, or anything oversize will need to phone beforehand to make sure they can drop off their items as the shop is now being filled up with parcels and they can barely get to any of their shelves- they have no idea why they are suddenly being inundated with so many parcels.

I doubt anyone is signing for the items but I send 90% of my stuff signed for and nearly all of them have a green tick saying delivered whereas the normal ebay ones have nothing and not showing as delivered but most are because feedback left

Can't  rely much on ebay feedback anymore to show items were delivered as I rarely get feedback anymore.
I wonder if RM have too much to deliver and not enough staff and are cutting corners as a result.

I ordered trainers from Jacamo yesterday.
I use click & collect as Im too tight to pay postage ;).
They have changeed their collection network as it didnt offer my the usual store (we have a couple of local shops that always seem to be click & collect options) but smaller local stores Ive never been to.
Im thinking this might be the reason.  Jacamo are part of a large group of mail order companies. If all of them have shifted over then they would see a spike in volumes.

Possibly/probably unrelated. DPD are adding Post Offices as place where goods can be left.
There seems to be quite a bit of shuffling around going on.
I've noticed a few companies I use have started to switch to Yodel. Presumably they're offering some good deals and better service. I must admit I used to cringe when I saw their name on the delivery and, at least near me, they seem to have sharpened up their act this last year.
I know from trying to get a new courier contract that it's not an easy task at the moment. They all seem to be having problems of too much work.

I wouldn't bank on Yodel. £300+ order arrived in the Livingston depot last week and simply disappeared.
Offloaded to the depot and nothing further.
