When the £69 comes out at the end of the month you should have cashed out a bit fromsomewhere, and that will bring it to under £1000 owed, it will be another boost mentally to see it drop into the hundreds :D The bonus may not be as good this year, but even after deductions you will have something worthwhile and that will be a big help for things going forwards

  • Happy belated birthday for yesterday - I hit the "big" number mentioned in your post last year and it still slightly bewilders me how I got there. I guess at some stage I should probably work out what I want to do when I grow up, but I figure I've probably got a while yet to worry about that...

Your count down to DFD is really ticking along - so excited for you!  And that's great news about the bonus too - a good amount to put to a holiday!

    Morning All

Just thought I would update my week.  Been really busy work wise and lots of work visits (to customers I deal with) which has meant my work has really built up :disappointed:

Because of this I have had a massive success on the left over cash of my weekly cash budget I set for Grocery and Fuel.  Work visits have been use of a hire car, so I have not used the £40 I set aside for the week for my own/hubbys personal fuel usage.  I also have £54.52 left of my Grocery budget which is brilliant!  We have used alot of what we already had at home this week as I have been so busy.

So I have sent £4.52 to Penny Saving Challenge, £40 to my other Monthly saving challenges and £50 to my Hols Part 1 (accelerated Fund Focus). Total £94.52!

My usual DD for Sainsburys comes out on Tuesday for £69 which will take the balance to £994 minimum. Will look visually appealing too being in the hundreds

Having some issues with a submission I completed on Prolific, It was a £3 Reward plus £2.10 bonus, which is stating as paid, however the Reward is nowhere to be seen!  Have queried with Prolific and they have said I need to contact the researcher so thats what I have done!  Never come across this before where a submission is approved but no cash?  I hope this will get sorted as thats a good amount to lose I spent about 20 to 30 minutes doing that!

Anyway, need to crack on with work.  Have a great day!

  • Hopefully Prolific will get that payment sorted - I know they have some issues at the moment with cash-outs, not heard of anyone else having had problems with the payments in the first place though!

Morning and 1st of March already!

Im still having issues with the survey I completed which was £3 plus £2.10 bonus.  I contacted the researcher and they claim it was paid to Prolific so I have messaged Prolific again.  I have managed to cash out £6.43 today first time in over a week!  Sent £6 to Sainsburys CC and 43p to SPC.  I have £14.30 waiting approval (plus missing £5.10) and I have completed a great paying survey today which is £5 (already approved) and the survey is repeated every 4 weeks over the foreseeable future at £4 a time!  Happy days!

In terms of my debt I am now below £1000 and this is visually very pleasing!  My next major payment is when I get paid in a couple of weeks and I will be sending £685 to my debt plus anything else I can in the meantime.  Just 48 days to financial freedom!  I so cannot wait, I'm constantly looking at what I want and how to save to get there.  My mindset is so different to what it was.  Even Hubby has said since I started this journey our finances are in a much stronger position, where we have actually got pots of money for different things we wouldn't have had before, we now have a handle of money!  He has actually been speaking to a work colleague of his and his colleague was saying he is really struggling at the moment seems to be spending cash like no tomorrow on nothing at all!  Hubby said he should speak to me

I have updated the Pay all your Debt off By Xmas 23 thread, what an amazing total!  In just 2 months members have paid a staggering £56097.28 off debt and £31626.18 during February!  Its so good to be able to run this thread as I feel I am helping others in a strange sort of way?

Although I am now nearing the end of my journey I will miss this diary and updating.  Does anyone know if there is a different thread I can look at to diarise my journey during financial freedom?  If not I will ensure I continue to help others where I can during their Financial Road to freedom.

Its 1st of month today and most DD's have gone out including my mortgage too.  Still have around £59 left after rest of bills are paid and I will also be getting the Child Benefit payment of £145 on 14th March so will have approximately £205 left by payday.  Anything I have left I will ensure this is sent towards the final payment in April to Sainsburys CC which is currently £306.

Think thats about all for now.  Going to make myself a hot drink and look at some more diaries on here as Im off work today.

Another quick update on my weekly (& Monthly) cash envelopes

    Grocery - £100 Budget (£28.98 left)
    Fuel - £40 Budget (£0 left)
    Household - £50 Budget Monthly (£45 left)
    Misc - £10 Budget Monthly (£10 left)
Eat Out - £50 Budget Monthly (£40 left)

The Grocery which is a weekly budget will reset by Tomorrow evening and anything left will go to one of my saving challenges or EF. The monthly ones will roll over to next week.

As Im off today I think I will save the train and car parking costs too which amount to £15.  Will send £10 to my March saving challenge and £5 to EF.  I also need to update my Budget planner as I was so busy last week with work, so all spending from 20th to today needs to be added.....

    Thats about all

  • Some great feedback from hubby on your financial successes there! Hopefully in a few months with more buffering of the joint account I'll get something similar haha

In terms of your next diary, I think it depends on what your next goal is. There's a diary section on the mortgage free wannabees, and there are saving diaries here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/how-much-have-you-saved

Personally, I think I will go to the savings first and then create one on the MFW boards later on.  Whichever you decide to do, make sure you link us to your new one :)
