Oh hell Shell I'm so sorry - I hope you're coping OK with doing everything that needs to be done and are also managing to take some time out for your own needs to be met, too. xx

    Morning All

Im back after taking a break since my dad died.  Its been a rollercoaster of emotions over the last month and still is very raw for me.  Thankyou to all who left me messages, your thoughts were welcomed, I did keep checking in from time to time.

Ive still been paying down debt since I have been off here but not to the extent I have previously, deleted PAD payment total as I havent a clue what payments I made.  Pay all Debt off by Christmas total will be out also so just added recent CC payments for all 3 cards and my loan payment as they have gone out as usual.  Declared to Payment a Day thread.

Just returned from a well looked forward to break from sunny Cornwall, very much needed after last few weeks.  Was a lovely break, kept thinking of dad, had occasional cry too.

I have had a cash out of £5 on a receipt scanning app which I paid towards Lloyds CC and also I had a further invite from Am@zon shopper for receipt scanning and have received a £5 voucher which I am keeping until I need something. Not sure how long the Am@zon invite will last for as im only having to scan in 10 receipts to get £5 and already on track to receive another £5 voucher this month, hopefully for the long term!

My budget planning has gone off track too in the last month or so with everything thats been going on, I need to get back to budgeting quickly as Im a couple of weeks off being paid and already starting to struggle.  I know why im struggling as I have filled car up 3 times since last being paid in view of everything with dad being in hospice then organising funeral etc and also with recent planned trip away to Cornwall.  Ive likely overspent something in the region of £350  :#

Im back on it now, I need to pick myself up and limp towards payday, its going to be tight.  Signature updated.

    Thanks
    Shell x

  • Welcome back Shell. So sorry again about your Dad. Cornwall is so lovely I'm glad that you have had a break. You deserve it! It sounds like you have got a  good plan in place but prioritise yourself and your family at the minute if you need to!

Thanks @sunshine_raincloud I will ensure I take time for me too x

Quick update form me, £1 PAD payment today, low for me but as im limping towards payday still want to make PADs no matter how small.

Im gearing up to update my budget as I havent touched it in over a month.  My anxiety is off the scale as its a part of my routine that I need to get back on track with so during lunch, will crunch some numbers and if I have time will sort out Junes budget for next week when I get paid.

I still have one of my daughters at home as off for 2 weeks (eldest went back on Monday), and i have promised her I will take her roller skating tomorrow.  I think its around £7.50 so not a too spendy day predicted, will ensure we eat before we leave and take some drinks with us.  My roller skating days are well and truly over unfortunately I so remember the 80s and going to the local rink.  Seem to remember Red Red Wine being a hit then as thats all I remember playing constantly!

Anyway its lunch time I have a couple of calls to make work wise and then Im tackling the budget!

    Morning

Its a lovely sunny day here and I have a load of washing already on the line.  I have made a small PAD of £1.20 to Lloyds CC and a separate payment to my 1p savings challenge as I found some coins in my purse amounting to £2.20. - Declared and signature updated.

I crunched the numbers yesterday and it made for dire reading!  :#  As I predicted hit by Fuel, £374 spent already since being paid and my usual Budget is £175 a month, plus eating out due to visiting Dad in the Hospital then Hospice totalling £165.  I have £200 in my bank with 3 bills still to be taken for £100 and I have my separate Variable weekly expenses budgeted at £175.  I am definitely going into my overdraft this month  :'(

I also started my June Budget and have lots coming up for the next pay period.  Birthdays x 5 so £100 and my Green Bin subscription at £37 and Fathers Day....this will be hard for me this year with just losing my dad.  Will still need to factor something in for Hubby with our Daughters though and My sisters and I want to take mum out for Fathers Day so will also need to factor that cost in too - Possibly another £50 and I will be starting from a negative balance before payday of around £75.  Its not great!  I will however, try to remain focussed cut back where I can, and keep a smile on my face whilst doing it!

Today Im taking youngest Roller Skating and my eldest has asked if she can go too and they each want to bring friends.  I do have a family fun pot over in my Starling account so will use that.  Their friends parents are paying for them to go skating and I will treat all girls to a McD***s part from family fun, part from my own spending account.

Its not great but I have to carry on as I still want rid of this debt.  Its all still going in the right direction, just not hitting debt as hard as I have been recently.

    Thats about all for now.

You know what, sometimes, doing the things you need to do to deal with the stuff going on takes precedence over clearing debt. we do what we have to - and remember, at least now you know where things have gone wrong, know that there is a shortfall and will be continuing form a position of awareness about that - which is a far better position to be in than as could so easily have happened without a budget place, ending up knee deep in further longer term debt!

@EssexHebridean I agree totally.  Had this all happened pre light bulb moment I would hate to think of the situation i would find myself in now.  Most of that would have gone on the CC.

Like I said, I dont want to wander too far from the debt journey road which is why im just making my usual payments plus little PAD's when I can.

    Thanks for checking in xx
