Ask them to show you where the water, electric and gas meters are.Also the water cut off tap.(Never found our old flat's water meter despite having instructions).If they have a fence etc or paint colour you like, ask what the colour is / care instructions are. If they have bits of it left over they may well leave them for you. Looked at a house with lovely summerhouse the owner had built himself. If it was a labour of love for them then can see they'd be happy knowing the new owner appreciated and wanted to look after it.Also measure up for any changes you have in mind.May you find your sister soon Helli.

I'd go for the bigger ticket things: damp where furniture has been moved, working boiler, fresh signs of leak in roof, fresh cracks in the walls, Japanese knotweed poking up in the garden, wrecked carpet, flood damage in garage etc.0

British Heart Foundation will collect it from you, together with any other furniture in decent condition (subject to fire safety labels of course). We donated several van loads to them in December.0

Thanks badger09, I've found a charity now but they want it dismantled. Luckily it's only one strap/wall screw to get it off the wall but it's really heavy. I still need to buy a proper ladder, spotlight bulbs and smoke alarm batteries seem to need replacing regularly.
I just popped in to say check the Wifi signal. I was taken aback the 02 signal here is so bad, my kids always encourage me to carry my phone all the time in case I have a fall, but I have to go to the front garden to get any kind of signal.
After a lot of faffing around with a new phone with Tesco, which I returned, I found that '3' do offer wifi calling on their PAYG for my 2016 Iphone SE.£216 saved 24 October 20140 -
Ask about the neighbours. My son had a problem neighbour. Started off oh so very helpful, went to problems with boundaries and lifestyle, ended up with assaults and the police. Now he's selling up to get away. I know there are two sides to every story, but ask and make a judgement.0

I never viewed a house that close to exchange myself. I went twice before I bought this one, the owners gave us the keys to look round early in the process. Then we just asked any questions that were important.
Im sure they're in the middle of packing so make sure you're courteous (sure you will be).0 -
