Applying for financial support while self isolating.

Hi,

I wondered whether anyone could help with a brief idiot's guide as to how to apply for the £500 payment from your local authority if you're self isolating and on a low income?

As far as I can ascertain I meet all the criteria but having filled out the forms online I've received an email back from my local council stating that they've been unable to verify my Test and Trace ID - I have no idea what this is! I've tried calling but they're impossible to get hold of.

Does it make a difference if I've independently reported a positive result rather than been pinged and instructed to self isolate via the app, which I don't currently have? Do I need the app to claim? 

Any pointers gratefully received

was this a self test lateral flow test? have you had a PCR test done?

Hi Caz,

Yep, lateral flow - PCR test has been posted today. Do I need to wait to get the results back from that?

Yes, you need the reference number from the PCR test to claim.

Thanks MattMatt, that wasn't clear (or maybe it's just me!) but I'll re-submit the claim once I've received it.
