Vinted/Depop compared to eBay

Options
Is eBay still the best place to sell secondhand clothes? Am considering Vinted or Depop... does anyone have any experience of them? Do they get much traffic? I listed a few things on eBid, but have barely had any views.

Check the terms and conditions. Seller lists an item and sends something totally different and your lumbered with the costs to
return it and tought luck if they reject the delivery.  At least ebay covers you for that.

Ebid is a waste of time, never bought anything from it and stopped looking years ago.

  • I've bought on Depop but never sold, same with Ebay.

The sellers on Depop, i've dealt with, are nowhere near as reliable and my overall experiences weren't at all inspiring enough to make me return to do it again.

I would think worth trying Depop but be prepared for a less 'professional' approach to the whole thing and have the 'members' happy to do the transaction without any communication, correspondence and/or feedback - for me it was like talking to brick walls.

Younger people are tending towards app based sales like Depop and Vinted- but watch some of the costs and rules. There is one app around where you can't choose your postage costs- and who keep the money until such time as buyer confirms they are happy with item . One also expects seller to offer free returns - so read everything!

Ebid is and always has been a total waste of time, not being able to sell on there is no indication as to whether your items have a market or not .

You could look at ebay completed sales as well, get an idea if you have anything worth selling. Always look at completed sales though, not current listings.

Vinted isn’t as good for selling as ebay in my opinion. There is no traffic like the traffic on eBay unfortunately but ebay fees are high
on vinted sellers don’t get fees which is nice . I found deepop overpriced and don’t look at it much but haven’t sold on there.
I’m still waiting for someone to rival ebay which would be nice
