Wales.gov Day 2 PCR Test cost fiasco Help

HI,
Help needed.
I bought two pcr day two test kits for £88 each due to living wales. I had to buy from CTMportal due to wales.gov rules. I have not yet received the kits yet on Friday 13th august they reduced the cost to £68.
I only feel it is fair the partially refund me the £40 extra I paid only a few days previous.
I have tried contacting CTMportal and ended up talking to a fellow who sounded Indian with a very noisy background noise of car engines, horns etc. He basically said tough, nothing he could do about refunds as it wasn't something he could do. He also couldn't advise me who to contact. Shocking Customer Service experience.
I feel it is very unfair that I am travelling from Spain to Wales via Manchester airport and other passengers sharing my flight who live in England only have to pay £43 per test.
it is a rip off.
Can anyone advise how if possible I can get my £40 partial refund?

Thanks

Paddyeds

If they had increased the price to £188 a few days later would you be wanting to pay the extra £200?

You bought at a price, prices can always go up or down but once you've locked in they cannot alter your price... you dont get to get a refund just as you wouldn't be asked to pay more had prices moved against you.
  • Well that's me told then.

Mainly people travelling to England then onto Wales have used any of the cheaper English test providers without a problem.given there is no border control between E & W, this shouldn’t be an issue for you.

  • Is that strictly legal. Good to know if so for future as I have already paid for tests that you can't cancel or get refund on.

I reckon the pcr day two tests will probably be scrapped soon anyway as the system is a total shambles.

As you arriving in England , you can follow the rules for arriving in England , which are that you have a choice of providers . Would be different if you were flying directly to Cardiff.
