Experian

My free Experian credit score is incorrect.

My Experian score has gone from 999 to 940?

Experian says I've got a loan of £4031.00.

I do not have any loans and my credit is paid in full monthly approximately £600.

Experian tel me I need to sign up and pay monthly to find out what the £4031.00 loan is.

How can I find out what this £4031.00 is, with out paying?

regards Steve

Your Experian credit score is a meaningless and made up number.

Apply for your statutory report. Depending on what is on there do the same with the other CRAs. If there is an error then get them to remove it, but be aware someone may have applied for credit in your name, or there may be other reasons behind it (finance etc.).

Credit Club on MSE (free) can pull your Experian credit report.

    Search for Credit Club.

Recently, we asked for a Santander credit card and were turned down due to an incorrect credit score with Experian.  We have no debt.  Having looked at our Experian report, we were astonished to see so much incorrect financial information.  For example, it states that we have only been mortgage free for 4 years - in fact it is over 20 years. How do we correct the report?

You have to ask the people reporting to the account to change it. Mortgage free for 4 or 20 years doesn't really mean anything though as lenders only look at active debt and credit history such as payments on time etc

    What other errors though?
Have you checked Equifax (Clear Score) and TransUnion (Credit Karma) to see if there are any issues there?

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Firstly, you'd be better off starting your own thread, rather than resurrecting one that's 3 years old.
Secondly, if you've read the thread you're posting on, you'll be aware that the score is utterly meaningless.
Having no debt, and hence no recent credit history, means that a lender has no historic data on which to form a judgement about you.  You may have to start off with a credit-builder card.
If there is any incorrect information on your report, you need to contact the lender concerned and ask them to issue a notice of correction to the CRA.
It's also worth checking all 3 of your credit reports, since not all lenders report to, or consult, all 3 agencies.
