Good morning everyone
Dull but dry here - hopefully the sun might pop out later. It's feeling a lot cooler in the mornings now. DD in Germany has lovely hot weather - I'm hoping it lasts till I get there!
Yesterday morning I took little one down to mam and dads where mam entertained her while I did dads laptop jobs. After her nap DD picked us up and we took her to the soft play again - which she loved. We went to a nearby pub for a carvery tea afterwards - it was really nice.
This morning I'm meeting a friend from work for coffee and cake at the cafe down the hill, which will be nice. This afternoon I'll have a look at my Sunday Times, which I didn't even open yesterday. Maybes a potter in the garden, then little one will be coming for a couple of hours after nursery.
Snoozer - last time I had my little great nephew for the day . I took him to play football on the field - he asked if I could run faster when I was young!
Dumpling - well done on getting out
TA - I never catch up on all my jobs - possibly because I'd rather read a book!
Hope everyone has a good day13 -
Morning all
Dry bright and sunny here so I have a wash on the go and will hang it out for a while.
We had such a lovely day yesterday it was so nice to see family and friends some of who we have not seen for years, my Uncle who has always been bright as a button has dementia it was so sad to see him, he is still ok but told me the same story 5 times and struggled to order and read the menu, I was sat next to him so helped him order etc. Before the meal we had a zoom call with my cousins in Aus it was so lovely to see them one cousin comes back regularly (pre covid) but the other one ive not seen for at least 20 years, both of them were best friends with my dear brother so there were a few tears, but it was lovely to see their faces.
I had a prawn and crab cocktail for a starter and then some tapas dishes including chorizio in red wine, battered prawns and garlic mushrooms, it was delicious all washed down with two glasses of wine. We then went back to their flat and spent a couple of hours chatting it was a great day, I was in bed by 9 last night as I was shattered.
Onto today I need to have a tidy through and empty the dw and run the hoover round, then I will get the pups out for a walk.
Gers I am sorry to hear about your Auntie xxx

Wicked Lady, Stratford Road is where the Roman settlement was in Sandy, it was quite an important place because it had a Mansio. There was an archeological dig in the cemetery in the 80's which found a lot of good stuff and also in the 19th century when the railway was built.5

Thanks Snoozer. It had some lovely properties along the road but I couldn't live with the noise from the railway line. I guess the residents become accustomed to it! Nice donkeys thoughsnoozer said:Wicked Lady, Stratford Road is where the Roman settlement was in Sandy, it was quite an important place because it had a Mansio.
