Replacement key for 2102 Qashqai.

As title. This is for a car my bro is considering buying, and it only has one key. This is a normal 'bladed' key with 2 buttons.
Finding it hard to get definitive info on the likely cost and complexity of getting a spare key and having it programmed.
Anyone any idea?!
Thanks.

About £250 seems the going rate from most dealers for replacement keys on modern cars.

Or depending on the age and how much you care you can always get a "dodgy" key made.

These are just a clone  of your current key, so in caes of losing one you could not remove  one from using the car. However 99.9% of people do not care about that.

  • Thanks for the replies.
Yes, asking Nissan is sensible! Just wondered if folk on here knew for certain, and/or of alternatives.
£250 wouldn't be excessive, but I've heard that some can be a lot more - perhaps the keyless type?
A clone would be fine as I understand the lost one has been so for quite a while, so very unlikely to turn up, especially with someone who knew the car's new location.
Anyhoo, I'll see what Nissan say in the first instance - that would presumably be the maximum price it would cost!

Two out of our four cars only have one key, just be careful and save £250ish.
  • One key?! Gulp - not an option!

Anyhoo, Nissan emailed - let's see what they say.
