Difficult to generalise about the weather since the terrain goes from the sea through to a mountain range. Relatives who live in the foothills often get very little rain. As you suggest though, temperatures are more moderate than the south of england0

I couldn’t answer that, [DELETED USER], hopefully someone who’s lived there will respond. In political terms, D&g has been Conservative for a long time, in contrast with most of Scotland.1

Maybe the south isn't the right place.Nice sweeping statement there...Everywhere has places more and less accepting of others, towns and cities have neighbourhoods that border each other but won't mix. I'm not sure choosing a random place in a different country and hoping it is better is necessarily the best approach.4
