If you want to be picky the V2000 is better than the U3000. The only donwer about the v2000 is the 1x hdmi. The V series has extra sony's bravia picture engine enhancements, whereas the U series has a few less (dont remember the specific name). Iv physically compared both, and the older V is better.

as i said i was not being picky, just saying i thought with the tv being a couple years old, and not showing on sony`s uk website as a line that is currently available, that the technology would be dated, i stand corrected, seems the op found a right bargain then, and i was not saying that the tv i brought was a all singing dancing machine, as i stated in my post i know the u series is sonys budget range, but the tv is by far the best i have had, and i have had a few, phillips and the like, but then again as long it shows a picture what more do you want from a tv.
Take every day as it comes!!

Yeah at the end of the day, its a good price for a tv, just thought id mention to others even though its old its still decent. Everything else at that price tends to be budget makes. Now if someone can find a 42" pioneer at £500 id be v.grateful! ;)

    i gota 37" 1080p Evesham tv for £649

i was so close to getting a hanspree one for ebuyer.com but i resisted although it had good reviews. i guess i wanted to be future proof with 1080p

Although you are never really future proof are u!

btw is there not a post for sky tv? now i picked up a good bargain with them, sky+ and installation for free! even though i ordered for £179.99 off their website, i then rang up to cancel it and they go we will give it you for free

    i was well chuffed
Always looking for a better deal...:T
  • well if it has been used as a demo model you will likely be in for a bit of a shock. a typical LCD will last about 30k hours (maybe). If it's been used on display for 24hrs for the past 2 years, that could mean it is already over half it's life span, not to mention everyone and his 5 year old fiddling with it, for a saving of 39.99, seems a little crazy to me.
