Final bill Green Energy Network

Hi

Anyone else still waiting for their final bill from Green Energy Network? I contacted EDF about this and was told the final bills should have been out by the end of July but there may be a bit of a delay. Despite continuing to pay a monthly DD I feel like I'm not keeping track of my energy as I have had no bill since the end of last year.

The readings that are on my EDF account do not match the readings on my meters despite me updating them and I want to move away from EDF as soon as possible.

Is there any way I can speed up the process of receiving my final bill from GEN or do I just sit and twiddle my thumbs?

  • Good luck with your final bill I've had mine just over a week ago for just short of 2.5k. I'm livid they have massively over estimated my final gas reading even though a reading was supplied and they have totally messed up the rest of the bill too.
And not getting any joy in sorting it out especially with the ombudsman as they have now washed their hands of anything to do with GNE
  • I have the exact same issue.
Final bill goes way beyond EDF taking over my account, EDF seem to accept that I’m liable to GNE up to 12 May
They have over estimated readings changing my standing daily charges week to week changed both peak and off peak rates and believe it not changed my fixed Sunshine V4 tariff two months after going bust absolutely scandalous. As I sit here in August my meter has only just surpassed their estimated end reading from May. I have gone from £200+ credit to £340 in debit and EDF themselves will probably owe me money if this bill is allowed to stand.
How can this be allowed to happen?

Before getting too excited, it is worth bearing in mind that you should not be paying for the same energy twice: that is, opening and closing readings must agree.

It follows that a change of credit, say, of £200 is simply the overpayment of one supplier to the detriment of the other. You will not pay any unit charges to your new supplier until the meter index reading passes the opening reading.

...and as I have said before, utility cos. are infamous for having computer systems that can't cope with zero/negative usage ,so substitute estimates. And trying to get the new supplier to accept that the changeover readings were wrong , can be a huge battle - been there and have the scars to show for it !!
